A personal encounter with Jackie Chan in 2003 changed the Berlin native's life and sparked her passion for the combination of film and action. Encouraged by her mother to take up martial arts in order to be able to defend herself in the event of racist hostility, she became junior world champion in the Indonesian martial arts variant Pencak Silat at the age of 15 - which is why she was booked as an extra for the film "Ninja Assassin". Hello Hollywood!
She doubled her favorite actress Halle Berry in Cloud Atlas, when her international breakthrough came in 2017 with her role as Dora Milaje in "Black Panther". This opened the door to other notable productions including "Avengers Infinity War", "Avengers Endgame", "Star Wars 9", "James Bond - No Time To Die", "John Wick 4", "Matrix 4" and many more. She has also worked as a stunt double for other prominent actresses such as Queen Latifah, Lashana Lynch and Naomi Ackie.
In January 2024, "60 Minutes", the first German martial arts action film on Netflix, was launched, in which Marie plays a leading role alongside Emilio Sakraya. In addition to her film career, she has also been offering self-defense and martial arts training for children since 2016 in order to pass on her knowledge to the next generation. Marie has also gained recognition as a sports model and has already worked for renowned companies such as Nike, Adidas and Mercedes.
